Xenonauts soll - laut den Entwicklern - ein XCom-Remake sein, dass die Spielmechaniken identisch lässt, jedoch die Grafik auf den allerneusten Stand bringt. Es ist auf Steam und dem HumbleStore für Windows, OS X und Linux verfügbar.
Die erste Portierung war bis September 2015 eine WINE-Portierung. Im Zuge des Humble Indie Bundle 15 jedoch, hat ein Humble-Mitarbeiter das Spiel nativ auf Linux portiert (siehe Link). Diese native Version wird auf allen Kanälen fortan verwendet und bereitgestellt. Offiziell wird diese Version jedoch nicht länger unterstützt:
