DuckStation is an simulator/emulator of the Sony PlayStation(TM) console, focusing on playability, speed, and long-term maintainability. The goal is to be as accurate as possible while maintaining performance suitable for low-end devices. "Hack" options are discouraged, the default configuration should support all playable games with only some of the enhancements having compatibility issues.

PCSXR ist ein Sony Playstation 1-Emulator. Die Linux-Version ist nur noch über die Wayback-Machine erreichbar, jedoch bietet z.B. Packman Pakete für openSUSE an.

PCSX2 ist der Nachfolger von PSCX und ermöglicht die Emulation einer Sony Playstation 2 unter Linux.

Vorteile gegenüber der originalen Playstation 2 sind individuelle Auflösungen bis zu 4096x4096, Anti Aliasing und Texture filtering.
Das BIOS der Playstation 2 wird benötigt, weil es aus urheberechtlichen Gründen nicht in PCSX2 enthalten ist.
